It’s Official! I Signed the Contract

After The Plot Whisperer: Secrets of Story Structure Any Writer Can Master came out, I started receiving heart-felt thanks from writers. By applying the Universal Story to their own lives, writers finally understood why they meet with resistance. As a result, they felt they knew what to do about it. Encouraged by their connection to the spiritual side of the Plot Whisperer, I extracted the thread from the book and expanded it into an on-line video series: A Spiritual Guide for Writers. And… now it’s official! I signed the contract with New Harbinger Publications to write the book. Most noteworthy, the book is not only for writers. It is for anyone wanting to get in touch with their creativity and develop the artist within. 

A Spiritual Workbook 

The working title the publishing company created is: A Spiritual Workbook for Higher Creativity: A Step-by-Step Program for Overcoming Self-Doubt and Emotional Traps So You Can Live Your Best Creative Life. 

I’ve visualized and dreamed of this opportunity for the past four years. I am grateful for the chance to take the concepts I’ve taught about plot and characters and theme and apply them in a broader context — real life. I am beyond thrilled! 

The Universal Story

My first course of business was to create a planner of my writing schedule following the Universal Story template — no surprise there. This one I’m calling a Creativity Planner. 

I arranged the chapter summaries I created for the proposal according to the time frame I have to write and turn in the finished book (July 2019). I then transferred the information into my datebook. This gives me a clear idea what I have to write and when. I plan to begin the actual writing October 1st.

My Goal for the Workbook

My goal for the workbook is to spark your creativity by holding your goals, opposition, and emotions alongside the Universal Story. I want A Spiritual Workbook for Higher Creativity: A Step-by-Step Program for Overcoming Self-Doubt and Emotional Traps So You Can Live Your Best Creative Life to take you on a transformational voyage similar to the journey found in bestselling stories.

The workbook is not only for writers looking to enhance their productivity and cultivate more joy and success in their lives. It is for anyone wanting to get in touch with their creativity and develop the artist within. Above all, the workbook is intended to be a goal-driven program of discovery. Explore what’s beneath the surface of your actions. With this broader insight, drama drops away and you move more effortlessly toward your creative dream.
