Pre-NaNoWriMo Book Giveaway Day 3

October 28, 2015 By Martha Alderson

Pre-NaNoWriMo Book Giveaway Day 3

Thank you for your enthusiasm for Pre-NaNoWriMo Book Giveaway! Such fun scanning social media and the internet for winners and run across such nice messages, funny memories, success stories and love. Thank you. Today is Day 3 and time for another tip and yet another opportunity for you to win a book or course of your choice. Click here for the list of pre-nanowrimo books and resources prizes awaiting you. (Check below for yesterday’s winners)

DAY 3 Pre-NaNoWriMo Tip

Preparation continues to be your key to a successful writing month!

As part of yesterday’s tip — 2) Clear your calendar of everything next month — means that you’ve cancelled appointments, asked someone else in your family to host Thanksgiving and moved all your important dates to another month. Now, with your calendar and the blank month of November facing you, begin filling in the following guidelines.

An awareness of the schedule to keep in order to write to the end by the last day of the month allows your body and your mind to anticipate what’s coming and opens you up for unexpected help along the way. Rather than blindly write and hope to reach the end, follow the schedule below and you will reach the end (if you’re panicked about coming up with all the scenes below and wish for help, when you win a prize, ask for The Plot Whisperer Book of Writing Prompts: Easy Exercises to Get You Writing. The title is incomplete — it should read — …to Get You Writing a Story with a Plot from Beginning to End)

Calendar the following NaNoWriMo Schedule:

11/1 – 11/7 — Write the Beginning 1/4 of your story
11/7 — Write the End of the Beginning / No Turning Back scene
11/8 — 11/14 Write the 1st 1/2 of the Middle, also known as the Emerging Middle
11/14 — Write the Recommitment / Rededication scene
11/15 —  11/21 Write the 2nd 1/2 of the Middle, also known as the Dark Middle
11/21 — Write the Crisis / Dark Night scene
11/22 — 11/28 Write the End 1/4
11/27 — Write the Climax / Triumph scene
11/28 — Write the Resolution
11/29 — 11/30 Catch-up
