Still Plenty of Time to Achieve Your 2015 Writing Goals
2015 plotted on the Universal Story shows us to be at the final 1/4, The End of 2015 with still plenty of time to achieve your 2015 writing goals. Now comes time to apply all you’ve learned this year, all the discipline, experience, research, study, writing, dreaming and outreach to successfully complete your year goal (don’t have one? create one now to be completed by 12/31/15).
You intend to finish your novel, memoir, screenplay this year – simply finish. Fall is the time to write fast.
Take the remainer of the month to pre-plot or re-plot your novel. Then devote November and December to finishing.
Forget the outcome for now. What you write doesn’t have to be perfect or brilliant or even very good. In fact, the sloppier the better. For now, get set up, organized, purge your calendar, make space and schedule for a marathon bout of writing during the final two months of the year.
The more enjoyable the process of writing for you, the more likely you are to write. Set up your environment to support an enjoyable process. Making your writing space beautiful and a place you enjoy. Forget the beginning of your story (I bet you’ve gone over that enough times for now) and concentrate on firming up the plot — action, emotion and theme. Revise your Plot Planner or create a fresh one. Hang it where you’ll see it as you write. Plan exactly what you intend to write in the final two months. Give yourself permission to write daily. Still plenty of time to achieve your 2015 writing goals. Believe it. See a path to success.
